Eyeko - Punk with China Glaze Crackle - Crushed Candy

Eyeko Punk is a hot pink neon. My bottle had gotten really thick since the last time I used it. Making application really difficult and bubbly. Which is a shame since the first time I used it on my toes it applied beautifully with out any problems. I used two coats for this manicure. I've also included a photo I took under the black light.

Afterwards I put on a coat of China Glaze Crackle - Crushed Candy. Crushed Candy is a turquoise creme that crackles once placed over your manicure. I have the whole set of China Glaze Crackles thanks to a swap with Emily! For the most part I'm impressed by the color range, but I would say that the crackle effect is a lot more finicky than Barry M or P2.

I had this look on my toes for awhile and decided that it would work well as a manicure. Kind of reminds me of vibrating colors.

Essie - Pink Parka & Bermuda Shorts

Excuse me while I hop on a plane back to America and buy every single Essie neon on the market. I think I'm obsessed with them. It's the middle of December and I don't want to change my polish to any of the holiday ones I have. These two colors just pop perfectly.

First up is Pink Parka a neon pink. Surprisingly, this was released as a Fall collection in 2009. It's a light pink neon and I loved it so much. It took three coats which are very good for a neon. My pictures are pretty close to color accuracy. Somehow I'm very lucky and my camera actually captures neons.

Bermuda Shorts is a neon purple that covers nicely in three coats. It's from the Neon Shorts Collection of Summer 2009. It's insanely beautiful and I've been wearing it for three days straight now.

So... Neons yay or nay? I use to be very nay but there two beauties have pushed me over the edge. I hope to see some more awesome neons this coming summer.

Models Own - Pink Explosion

Hello gals! It's Friday!

Yesterday I painted my nails with Models Own Pink Explosion. It's a neon pink with gold glitter! It's amazing and I love this color! I don't care that it's the middle of September but this color had to be on my nails and it was so worth it.

I used three coats. I should of used a white base underneath, but I didn't. You can see vnl in somewhat in the photos, but in real life I hardly notice. Application was okay. It was gooey similar to the consistency of Models Own Orangeade but not as bad to apply.

Models Own - Orangeade

It's September 1st and I picked a pretty bright color for the day. I really wanted to love this color. But it's not exactly a favorite on my nails. I think I'll try it on my toes next. However, I'll need to get some nail polish thinner first as this color was a gooey mess. You can kind of tell from my pictures that it went on thickly.

Models Own Orangeade is a neon orange with gold glitter. I used a coat of white polish and then three coats of Orangeade.

Orly - Passion Fruit

This is the first actual neon I have worn. I've never ever worn something like this before because I was too afraid. Then I tried it last week and I loved it! I loved it so much that I wore it for 5 days! That never happens as I usually colors everyday or every other day.
Neons take a while to get rid of visible nail line and they dry a bit matte so I recommend using a nice shiny top coat for this. It took me four coats to get rid of my nail line. In the picture you can see that the bottle color is different than the actual nail color. If I had only used the one coat it would of matched the bottle. When I used four it got darker. This polish also dries darker.


I took this picture on day four. I have a little tip wear. I cleaned the apartment and did a lot of dishes so I'm happy with how well it stayed. I used Orly Bonder as a base and Orly Sec N Dry as a top coat.

The apartment we live in is a sublease so all the furniture was included. Including the giant black light in the ceiling of our bedroom. Odd... yes... but it works great when you want a photo of your neon polish!

Check it out. This pink definitely leans orange in black light.
