Day 2: 12 Days of Christmas

Good evening today was day #2 in my 12 days of Christmas manicures. Nothing too special happened today.  A very lazy Sunday at home for the most part. I went to the grocery store and then came home to organize my make up and nail polish storage.

So for today I wore OPI This Gown Needs A Crown. A very pretty silver foil that dries matte. I absolutely loved wearing this color today. It has such a pretty finish almost like frosted ice.

Day 18: Nail Polish Advent Calendar

While I didn't get behind in the manicures... I did get behind on posting the photos! Today was OPI Designer De Better from last year's Muppets collection.

It's a silver foil with these interesting orange/bronze flecks.

Here is a macro.

Day 16: Nail Polish Advent Calendar

Hello! Today box number 16 has provided China Glaze Love Marilyn. A pretty red glitter with and silver hex glitter. I used e.l.f. Cherry Bomb as a base color and then two coats of Love Marilyn. Poor lighting again today. :(

Here is the macro! Not bad!

Until tomorrow.

Day 4: Nail Polish Advent Calendar

Yes, I am technically a day behind in posting this. But I did wear this on December 4 and photo it. Just couldn't get around to blogging till now.

Day 4 brought to me essence - can't cheat on me and China Glaze - Liquid Crystals.

I used essence - can't cheat on me as the base for this manicure. It's a very dull silver holo. For the glitter gradient I used China Glaze - Liquid Crystals. The essence is discontinued and the China Glaze polish shouldn't be too hard to find at the moment.

China Glaze - Haunting

Yes, I'm showing you a polish from a Halloween collection in February. :p I picked this up on clearance at Sally's in December for $1.99. It's from the 2011 China Glaze Halloween Collection.

Haunting is a lovely black shade with bits of silver glitter. Totally an acceptable color to wear outside of the month of October too. I needed three coats to get coverage as at two I still had some bald patches. I think 3 coats are a bit much for black since it's usually suppose to be pretty pigmented.

The nice thing about the glitter is that it is fine, so my manicure is not bumpy at all!

The manicured worked well with the task I had to take care of today too. I had to make a trip to the Adler Planetarium for my Astronomy course. I watched a simulated star show in one of the theaters.

Have a nice weekend!

Catrice - I Scream Peach with MNY 142A

Hello everyone. I'm back this week with a polish post. I was very busy taking in my last few weeks of living in Europe. So today I wanted to show you Catrice I Scream Peach. I picked it up recently off the clearance rack. If you want this, make sure to get your hand on it soon! It's been discontinued this month.

I Scream Peach is a really pretty bright coral. It applied so nicely in two coats. I just love love this color! I'm so glad I picked it up before I lost the chance.

The next day I put a coat of MNY 142A. 142A is from the I am a Glitterati LE that was released mid-August. It's got small silver glitter bits that are holo in the sun and it also has a few bits of silver hex glitter. Unfortunately the hex glitter was impossible to get on the nail. :(

Thanks for looking. I put some photos up on my Facebook page of the new Catrice bottles and some of the recently discontinued Essence.

Essence - Can't Cheat On Me

Hello ladies! It's the last week of June. It's hard for me to believe that, but of course it was 90F+/32C so I guess I should.

Essence Can't Cheat On Me is a silver lacquer that has a bit of holo pigment in it. By no means is it full on holo unfortunately. It's fairly thin and I needed to use three coats. The first picture was taken inside with just natural light.

Here's a great picture of it in the sun.

Here's the last two pictures with a bit of angling with the sun. It looks great in the sun! But a bit of a bummer without the sun.

I'm off to relax not for the evening. Have a great week!

Side note: Ironically, as I edit through my posts in 2014 to eliminate the arschmuncher in here I find this. That asshole cheated 4 times. So I guess you "Can Cheat On Me" lol. I'm better off don't worry. ;)

Alix Avien - 187 Jelly Blue w/ Silver Glitter

Today I have a special polish for you. I won this in a giveaway put on by My Little Vanities. Alix Avien is a polish from a Turkish company.

187 is a cerulean blue jelly with bits of silver glitter. It applied really nicely in three coats. It's so squishy too! I'm going to have to cut this a bit short now. I've been sick the past few days and thought I was better yesterday. Then I woke up this morning, even sicker than before. Been a bit behind on blogging and wanted to get this up before I pass out for the rest of the weekend.

Really great close up.

A little lighter than Essie Starry Starry Night but it's close enough and I think prettier that I don't feel the need to want Essie SSN anymore. What do you think?

OPI - Katy Perry Collection

The OPI Katy Perry Collection is beginning to trickle into retail stores. Sunday I found the collection at Ulta and bought the two glitters and then yesterday at a Boston Store I grabbed the silver duochrome. I passed on getting the magenta one called The One That Got Away. I think I have enough similar colors in my stash. When I was at the Ulta on Sunday I ended up having to wait 20 minutes in the car before the store opened. The funny thing was that there were about 8 teenage girls waiting outside the door of Ulta for 15 minutes in 12F weather. I had no clue what was so exciting that you need to wait 15 minutes in the cold for the store to open. Well, when the store opened and I got inside they were all clustered around the new Katy Perry display. lol. Really!? The polishes are nice, but I'm not that obsessed to crowd in front of the store for it. haha.

Last Friday Night, Not Like The Movies, Teenage Dream
Last Friday Night is a sheer cornflower blue with bits of light blue iridescent hexagon glitter. I used four coats for my manicure and I still had a little bit of noticeable VNL. This polish is really thick and gooey. I love the glitter and the next time I use it will probably be over a light blue base.

Not Like The Movies is a silver duochrome there are flashes of pinkish-purple and green when you move your fingers around. The polish also has little specks of silver flecked glitter. Unfortunately, it's really sheer and I needed to use four coats. Sorry about the unevenness at the tips of my nails. I've been having problems with my nails peeling and with the polish being so thin it was hard to cover the patches.

Teenage Dream is a sheer light pink with little bits of pink glitter along with iridescent holo hexagon glitter. The formula is very thick and sheer so I needed four coats.

Along with the 4 regular shades OPI released they also released a polish called Shatter. It's a black crackle. I passed on it since I already own Barry M black crackle. I used the Barry M to show the look of these three crackled. It dries matte when you apply so I have pictures with both top coat and no top coat.

Basic Concept from Woolworth's

Today I will be showing off five nail polishes that I purchased from Woolworth's in Germany. They were €1.50 each. So not too bad price wise. I grabbed them because they looked like very interesting foils. All of them were two coats except for the pink which was three. They were the perfect consistency, the brush was nice, and they were really easy to remove.

This one is called Aqua Shine.

Green Shimmer

Metallic Silver. On the bottle it says Metallic Silver I think they had a proof reading issue.

Gold Shimmer. My favorite! I've been looking for a true gold nail polish and this is it.

Frost Berry. This was the odd one. It's not actually really a foil it's more of a muted holo.
