GOSH - Ocean

I'm going to show you GOSH Ocean today. This is a polish I picked up over the weekend at the Walgreens concept store on State Street. You can read about that experience here.

GOSH Ocean in the bottle looks like a duochrome, but once it's on the nails it is basically a really bright metallic turquoise. Even though the color doesn't shift much on the nails, it's still really pretty.

Application was great! I was really impressed with the formulas consistency. The bottle is really easy to hold in my hand while painting. The brush is thin, which for me is my favorite style.

Overall all I really like the nail polish line from GOSH. I see myself stopping in again sometime this month to pick another color or two out. I'm definitely looking forward to new colors that will reach the display at some point too.

There is definitely a perk about living in a big city. My Sephora actually stocks some of the more limited brands, the Macy's on Michigan has Inglot, and Walgreen on State has GOSH!

Cult Nails - Let Me Fly

I really did let myself fly over the weekend. By finally cutting off around 7-8 inches of my hair. I've had it really long for about three years now. It was definitely time to say goodbye since I was dealing with terrible tangles and breakage. I was having glob conditioner in my hair and then comb through it with my tangle teezer just to manage it.

I went in with the intent of only cutting it just above my shoulders but next thing I know I'm agreeing to chop it into a short and edgy bob.

Short and sleek! Now on to my weekend manicure which was Cult Nails - Let Me Fly. A beautiful dark and dusty turquoise shade with flecks of silver shimmer.

My hairdresser and the sales lady at Ulta both complimented the color and asked what it was. Way to go Maria for creating a noticeable nail polish color!

I also gave my parent's next door neighbor girls manicures too, while I was visiting. The oldest girl picked Let Me Fly as her base color and then Cult Nails - Vicious as her polka dots.

The younger one picked Vicious as her base and the Let Me Fly for her polka dots and then on her other fingers, she had Cult Nails - Awakening as the base with a coat of Cult Nails Hypnotize Me.

Essence - Sun Club Bondi Beach Collection Part 2

I'm back with the second part of the Essence Sun Club Bondi Beach Collection. This time I will be showing off the two blue shades of the collection. You can see part 1 here.

Splash Refresh is the light teal of the collection. I love this shade so much. It applied really nicely in two coats. It's one of the best polishes I have applied lately.

This was taken out of the sun and the color is a bit off.

Chasing Waves is a light turquoise shade. A really, really pretty color. Usually these types of colors are difficult to apply and require more than two coats. Chasing Waves took two coats and applied like butter.

Essence - I Like and Forget-Me-Not

I have two new polishes to show you from the limited edition collection from essence called Blossoms ect... There are 5 different pastel spring colors all of them look gorgeous.

I Like is a light turquoise green-blue polish. It's a very pretty polish with a bit of turquoise shimmer too. It's not very noticeable in the pictures, but it's there. This polish applied in two coats very smoothly. I had no problems with it being patchy which is common in lighter color polishes.

Here's a shot in the shade. It looks a lot more blue in the shade.

Forget-Me-Not is a cornflower blue shade with ice blue shimmer. Applied wonderful again like the first polish in two coats. The first two pictures are full sun.

Overall, I'm a big fan of this collection so far. I have the yellow from this collection too, that I'll wear soon. I'm also going to look for the other two polishes sometime this week. Bravo Essence for putting out a nice spring pastel collection.

Eyeko - Punk with China Glaze Crackle - Crushed Candy

Eyeko Punk is a hot pink neon. My bottle had gotten really thick since the last time I used it. Making application really difficult and bubbly. Which is a shame since the first time I used it on my toes it applied beautifully with out any problems. I used two coats for this manicure. I've also included a photo I took under the black light.

Afterwards I put on a coat of China Glaze Crackle - Crushed Candy. Crushed Candy is a turquoise creme that crackles once placed over your manicure. I have the whole set of China Glaze Crackles thanks to a swap with Emily! For the most part I'm impressed by the color range, but I would say that the crackle effect is a lot more finicky than Barry M or P2.

I had this look on my toes for awhile and decided that it would work well as a manicure. Kind of reminds me of vibrating colors.

My Models Own Haul

Many of you probably knew that Models Own had a 50% off sale for a week after they reached 10,000 fans on Facebook. I was really excited for this sale as it made the purchase of this polish a lot more affordable. I might not be able to get my hands on Models Own for a while now due to the high shipping costs, but at least I got my hands on 13 polishes from them.

Here is a picture of my haul! I surprisingly picked some colors that I usually don't go for. Notably the neons and glitters.

Top: Green Grass, Lime Green, Emerald City, Top Turquoise, Slate Green, Blue Sparkle, Bluebelle
Bottom: Purple Haze, Magenta Divine, Turkish Delight, Orange Sorbet, Orangeade, Pink Explosion

I'm most excited for the neon glitters Orange and Pink Explosion. I also really excited to use Turkish Delight as it really was the surprise of my order.

My NOTD was a choice I left up to Chris and he picked Emerald City. It's an emerald glitter in a
clear base. It leans turquoise more then emerald most of the time. It took four coats for opaqueness but it was worth it. It catches the light beautifully.

American Apparel Nail Polish

Last fall American Apparel began selling nail polish. There isn't a store that is near me and when I do go out of town for shopping the store is way out of my way. The clothes and accessories do not fit my style but the polishes have been catching my eyes for quite some time. So last week I ended up ordering online 9 polishes... Malibu Green, Dynasty, Factory Grey, Poppy, Peacock, Hunter, Mount Royal, Passport Blue, and Berries. If your planning on making a purchase sign up for their email because in the end I received 15% off which was more then enough to pay the shipping costs. So far I have worn three but I was only able to get a shot of two.

First is Factory Grey which is a relatively light grey. It covers really nicely in two coats.


Today I wore Malibu Green which is a really pretty bright turquoise.


The formula so far is great but what kills the application is the long stem brush. It is just way to long which causes the polish to collect at the bristles. i find it to be a pain and I was ready to pull out an old OPI brush I had.
