OPI - Mod About You & Barry M - Silver Cascade

For New Year's Eve, I wanted a glittery manicure. I started out with OPI Mod About You from the 2006 Brights Collection. This color is not easy to work with the formula is crap and it stinks. I needed four coats to smooth everything out. I dealt with it because it is the perfect bright light pink and I've got noting similar to it.

  

The next step was putting the glitter on. I used Barry M Silver Cascade. It's a multi colored glitter in a sheer pink base. This picture shows it as only one coat over Mod About You. As you can see the sheer pink base has changed up Mod About You.

Here are three coats of Silver Cascade. These pictures were taken on New Year's Day the manicure is pretty much wrecked at this point. Mod About You never really dried so the manicure was still tacky when I took it off 24 hours later.

Barry M - Raspberry

Barry M Raspberry is a shiny magenta pink. Pretty color, but I had a terrible time applying it. The brush bristles are really long and not firm. Making it really difficult to round the brush around my cuticles. I was swearing to myself while applying this polish. Even though I cleaned up before taking pictures this manicure still looks really messy. So I apologize. Along with being hard to apply my camera was having a terrible time trying to capture the color. When I was editing a lot of the look red instead of magenta.

Barry M - Cobalt Blue with Black Crackle Top

Hello everyone! I wanted to show off two Barry M polishes I got in the swap I did. First, I want to show you Cobalt Blue. It's a really lovely creme that applied nicely in two coats. It's a darker cousin of OPI Ogre-the-Top Blue. I'll have to compare the two but from my past swatches Ogre-the-Top Blue seems lighter.

   

Next up I want to show you the effect polish that Barry M released. It's a black polish that crackles when you place it on top of nail polish. When you applied the crackle top coat you have to do it really fast because the effect really is instant. The black will dry matte after the effect has finished so if you like it glossy you need to put a top coat over it.

My mom also sent me two care packages! I love getting mail and mail from your mother is best if you ask me!

  

Magazines, hair ties, Tylenol, red licorice, reeses peanut butter cups, Clinique face wash, Clinique face moisture (big bottle and trial size), Clinique High Impact mascara, Orly Sec N Dry, Zoya Color Spoonss, Revlon Lipstick (one on twitter), my favorite toothpaste, a Fiesta plate Christmas ornament, two OPI polishes that I bought in a blog sale in June, a mini wedding album, my favorite hair conditioner and shampoo, felt tip pens, and the ski sock that got caught in my bed when I was packing.

The second package contained an American Eagle hooded sweatshirt for me. It is a cotton fleece blend and is incredibly soft! She also surprised me Cuddle John pajamas. I'm wearing them right now and they are incredibly comfortable. She also sent more magazines.

Barry M Swap!

About a month ago, Hailey from lilmissgiggles mentioned she wanted to do a swap with someone. I mentioned that I would love to do one. So we began collecting things for each other. I sent her a bunch of essence, catrice, and MNY and she sent me Barry M. We sent packages out on the same day. The one she sent me arrived in a week. The one I sent her is probably floating across the English Channel in a plastic boat at the moment. Swiss post is extremely slow... Like really slow, especially when you send via B Post (economy). I hope you get it soon Hailey!

Hailey gave me pretty much free reign on what to buy her. I on the other hand was difficult. I can research products for hours before I will buy them. I just don't like buying shades that don't match what I like. Hailey was very kind and found stuff off my list. Thank you!

I need to get an eyelid primer and I should of also took this photo in better light because it's hard to see the shadows on my eyes in these pictures.

This photo is so dorky. I'm also self conscious about my upper lip so be nice. But I wanted to show my hair color that I dyed last week.
