Day 7: 12 Days of Christmas Nails

Today is day 7! The color I picked out was Color Club The Uptown. It is in a royal purple jelly base with flakes that shift from orange, red, to green. I used 4 coats to receive full coverage and didn't use a base color.

This color will sure to cause you to stare at your nails all day.

See you again tomorrow.

Day 13: Nail Polish Advent Calendar

Day 13 and I are still going strong! I unfortunately don't post these right in the morning, but I manage to get it done before I go to bed.

Today the color was Orly - Ingenue. This came out the last holiday season. It's a really pretty sparkly duochrome. The color is usually a purple, but it shifts to a golden and pink color too.

Here you can see the pink and gold the most.

Here is the macro!

Until tomorrow.

GOSH - Ocean

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
I'm going to show you GOSH Ocean today. This is a polish I picked up over the weekend at the Walgreens concept store on State Street. You can read about that experience here.

GOSH Ocean in the bottle looks like a duochrome, but once it's on the nails it is basically a really bright metallic turquoise. Even though the color doesn't shift much on the nails, it's still really pretty.

Application was great! I was really impressed with the formulas consistency. The bottle is really easy to hold in my hand while painting. The brush is thin, which for me is my favorite style.

Overall all I really like the nail polish line from GOSH. I see myself stopping in again sometime this month to pick another color or two out. I'm definitely looking forward to new colors that will reach the display at some point too.

There is definitely a perk about living in a big city. My Sephora actually stocks some of the more limited brands, the Macy's on Michigan has Inglot, and Walgreen on State has GOSH!

See you again soon!

Debroah Milano - Rainbow Blazer

Today I have something totally neat to show you! I went to Manor (Swiss Department Store) a week ago just to browse around the store. Of course I checked out the cosmetics section, but there wasn't anything new that I could notice. But before I left I made sure to check out the counter of the checkout because sometimes they out the stuff there. And I found this...

Didn't know anything about the brand, but I picked up one polish called Rainbow Blazer. I googled the brand and found the website. They have other nail polish products b,ut the ones on display here are a new 40 color limited edition. They retail for $5.90 CHF which is just over $6 USD.

Isn't that an amazing duochrome! Purple, a bruise color, blue, and green! Every which way I moved my nails, they changed!

I was really impressed with the application. This was a bit sheer as I expected, but it applied really nicely. I used three coats. I also liked the brushed. Sometime when you have small bottles the brush isn't that great, but this one was nice and stiff but still flexible.

I just love the icy blue look it gives off above. Below are some of the pictures that show off the green side.

What do you think? I'm going back to the store tomorrow and then I'll check a few more colors out. I really liked this one and I wouldn't mind another one.

OPI - The Show Must Go On

Today I'm going to show off another stunning color from the OPI Burlesque Collection. The Show Must Go On is a favorite of mine a duo-chrome that most of the time is hot pink but every once in awhile flashes orange. I needed to use three coats to get rid of VNL. It's stunning. I took my photos on a cloudy day and you can still see how much this flashes!

Stunning, isn't it? Anyone else buy any of the Burlesque polishes? Which ones?

OPI - Parlez-Vous OPI? with special guest OPI - Significant Other Color

Today I'm going to show you another layering I did with two OPI polishes. This time I used the second color to perk up a two day old NOTD. I usually like to change my polish every other day. If by the second day of my manicure I'm bored with it, I usually put a coat of something sheer over it. It's a great way to extend a manicure one more day.

My nail of the day for the last two days has been Parlez-Vous OPI? from the Fall 2008 France Collection. I used two coats and the result was a beautiful dusty lilac creme. It's the perfect fall color but after two days it needed a little boost.

That's where Significant Other Color comes in handy. It's from a 2006 Bright's Collection. It's too sheer for me to wear it alone, but I've found it quite handy for layering.  For layering over Parlez-Vous OPI? I used two coats. Bam! You got a whole different manicure and all it took was 5 minutes. I think it looks pretty similar to Zoya Adina which is currently on its way to me via a blog sale. So I'll have to compare the two sometime.

With flash so you can see the yellow-green shimmer.

Orly - Fantasea

I'm going to start this by saying that I absolutely love this color! Every time I looked down at my nails I would smile because of the beautifully subtle duo chrome. I wish I had more Orly polish over here with me. The bottle is perfect to hold, the rubber cap is easy to grip with your fingers, and the brush is perfect for my nails.

This polish is sheer compared to most Orly's so I needed to use four coats. On the nails it is a purple with a red and gold hint of shimmer. So beautiful and it goes darker and lighter depending on the light.

Enjoy your Monday!
