Milani - Hi-Res

This was something that I picked up back in January when I was in the US. Wasn't even going in to get this one. I went to four different CVS stores that day trying to find the one-coat glitters. No luck there, but I did come out with some of the colors from the 3D Holographics collection that came out ages ago.

Hi-Res is a purple shade. The interesting thing about the collection is that the polishes have these awesome silver flakes in them that catch the sunlight very nicely. This is what makes the Milani 3D Holographic Collection unique in my opinion; by no means are they full on holos but the finish in the shade is still very nice.

Here's the a picture I took of my manicure inside out of the direct sunlight. Not too shabby right!? I love the little flecks.

Of course it looks spectacular in the sun! Thankfully it was very sunny the two days I wore this and I marveled at it in the sun a lot.

This has fulfilled my need for a decent holo effect. I really can't be bothered to hunt down or pay way too much money for the old China Glaze holos. Of course the China Glaze are way better holos, then the Milani ones but Milani is way more accessible and cheaper in the US.

Zoya - Fergie & CND - Amethyst Sparkle

Wohoo! Two posts in two days. I'm trying to be more on top of this. I really need to because I have tons of polish to wear and show off on here.

So today I wanted to show you something quick. Zoya Fergie is a mix of purple and pink creme. Fergie is really shiny on the nails and I used two coats for coverage. I really love this shade very vibrant and perfect for summer. Going to add this polish to my list of possible pedicure colors.

The next day I decided to spice up the color a bit with a CND Effect top coat. I used two coats of Amethyst Sparkle for this look. The effect is a shimmer with a hint of amethyst color to it. I love CND effects it's a great way to spice up your manicure without completely changing it.

Hopefully I can go three for three tomorrow. :)

Essence - Can't Cheat On Me

Hello ladies! It's the last week of June. It's hard for me to believe that, but of course it was 90F+/32C so I guess I should.

Essence Can't Cheat On Me is a silver lacquer that has a bit of holo pigment in it. By no means is it full on holo unfortunately. It's fairly thin and I needed to use three coats. The first picture was taken inside with just natural light.

Here's a great picture of it in the sun.

Here's the last two pictures with a bit of angling with the sun. It looks great in the sun! But a bit of a bummer without the sun.

I'm off to relax not for the evening. Have a great week!

Side note: Ironically, as I edit through my posts in 2014 to eliminate the arschmuncher in here I find this. That asshole cheated 4 times. So I guess you "Can Cheat On Me" lol. I'm better off don't worry. ;)

LCN - Tropical Tulip & Essence - Circus Confetti

Hello nail fanatics! Okay, getting back into the swing of blogging right... now!

So I'm going to show off a manicure that I had on for a few days last month. I've had Essence Circus Confetti is sitting in my untried's for awhile trying to figure out the best base color to use it under. Then amusedPolish sent me some polishes. One of which was LCN Tropical Tulip a lovely electric purple creme.

I think the glitter really vibrates off of this shade of purple. What do you think?

I used two coats of Essence Circus Confetti for this look. It's a multicolored hex glitter along with micro circle gold glitter. It can be compared closely to Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday and Milani Gems but not an exact dupe unfortunately.

This is my favorite close up of my mani! I think it looks beautiful.

Essence displays can be found in parts of Europe, but for sure in German speaking countries. They do have small displays in the US and Canada, but I' not sure if they have this polish stocked. I paid about $4 for Circus Confetti in Zurich.

LCN is a German brand. I can find a small display at Swiss Marionnaud stores. Recently LCN did break into the US market. You can order them here. The price for the size bottle I have pictured is $5.90. P.S. They also sell a few different colors of magnet polish!

Something Different Sunday: What's in My Purse and a Nail Polish Haul

I always find it interesting to see what people have in the purse. So while cleaning mine out today I decided to take some pictures for a what's in my bag post. Below is what it looked like when I dumped it out.

So lately I've been using a brown leather Coach wristlet as my wallet/purse. Works well because I can throw it into my backpack when I need to travel to work or dog walking. You can click the picture to see it larger.

1. Ticket for zone 40 & 41 that I can validate for 24 hours travel.
2. My month public transit pass for most of the Zurich city network.
3. My US drivers license that I basically carrying around for identity purposes since I don't really drive here.
4. Store loyalty card for COOP. COOP is the grocery store I shop at 90% of the time. You can collect points for things.
5. I call them stickers, but the Swiss-Germans call them Merkli. It's like promotion vouchers. Anyways. Basically, you get 1 merkli for every 10 CHF you spend. Then you put 30 merciless on a card that gives you a discount on whatever promotion they have going on. Right now it's knives and some Pyrex.
6. 100 Franc Bill
7. Ticket to extend 1-2 zones. I went out for dinner Friday and the place was out of our usual zone.
8. Had to purchase this last night because I was traveling on public transport after 1am. It's a lively 5CHF surcharge. Plus, after 12:30am nothing runs directly to my apartment so I had to walk 20 minutes home.
9. Müller is like a Walgreen's or CVS in the states. I got some polish for myself and a friend.  A hand creme and face wipes too.
10. 2 Franc coin
11. 1 Franc coins
12. 50 cent Franc coins
13. Paperclip
14. 20 cent Franc coins
15. 10 cent Franc coins
16. 5 cent Franc pieces. These are the most annoying. They collect like pennies.
17. Not even my house key. lol Key to the apartment where I am dog walking.
18. 50 Franc Bill

Saturday was a shopping day for me!

I got the Essence Holographic Collection when I went to Müller. Along with a new hand cream and face wipes.

Friday night I was at the "mall" came across some new to me polishes at Globus. I ended going back on Saturday for a few more. The Moda ones are from a Turkish company and the neon orange and black with holo glitter are from a Swiss company. I love the suedes from Moda they wear really well!

The goal for the week is to post more! Sorry I kind of fell off the deep end. Just stressed with stuff.

Cult Nails - Captivated

I wore this last week for two days. Cult Nails - Captivated is a polish packed full of glitter in a tinted orange coral base.

I used three coats for this and it's pretty opaque at that point. It's a bit gooey but I think that's to be expected of a glitter polish. Check out all the shades of glitter. I love the little specks of blue glitter and the gold really  contrasts nicely against the orange coral base.

The picture below is my favorite. So pretty and it just sparkles!

Cult Nails can be purchased online here for $10 a piece. But if you follow Cult Nails on Twitter you can watch out for discount codes they occasionally put out. They do have international shipping to most countries, but recently they have needed to change up what counties they can send to and how they can send it. They wrote about some of the issues they are dealing with here and here. If you check out and your country is not listed then contact Cult Nails as they are still adding to the list.

Cult Nails - Devious Nature

I need to get back on the blogging wagon. :) I've just been a bit busy and stressed. But hopefully things will start to get back to normal from now on.

At the end of May I received the new Cult Nails collection called A Day at the Races. I pre-ordered the whole set which included the new nail file. The glass file is fantastic so if your in the market for one I would recommend it. Here's a picture of the whole set.

So today I will show off my manicure of Devious Nature. Formula is great on this. I used two coats and it dried with such a shine. I took my pictures before I placed a top coat on so you could see how squishy it looks by itself. Devious Nature is a berry pink that leans a blueish purple. This is a great color for the summer and a very unique pink.
