Essie - Mojito Madness

Yesterday, I painted my nails with Essie Mojito Madness. This polish is from a collection that came out in Summer 2012. I just picked it up this past summer.

Mojito Madness is a yellow tone grassy green color. Very beautiful! I love this shade of green. The formula was a little runny, but I had no problem with coverage. This was two coats. 

Because the polish was Mojito Madness. I obviously had to make a Mojito and I watched some episodes of Mad Men.  ;) 

I love Joan's red dress in this Christmas episode from season 4. 

Today, I even importantly visited a very Mad Men-esque home. 

Finally, today I added on some nail art to my nails. Creating a little Halloween look.

Day 6: 12 Days of Christmas Nails

Today was Day 6 of my 12 Days of Christmas manicures. Today is p2 opulent. From the p2 Sand Style line. I used 2 coats. Opulent is a dark blackened green that sort of leans teal because of the glitter in it. As you can see the polish is textured too.

Looks lovely. I really liked it. See you tomorrow. 

Day 3: 12 Days of Christmas Nails

Good evening again! Today is day 3 of my 12 days of Christmas nails.

Today is Spa Ritual Rhythm of Life. A very pretty green shimmer that has a bit of a teal tint to it. It is a little sheer so I used three coats. 

My photos don't have the best coloring since I wasn't home during daylight times. :( See you again tomorrow.

This was a quick little manicure today. It's a skittles of China Glaze Mrs. Clause and Mistletoe Kisses. These came out in a Holiday collection in 2010. This is the best photo I had again. Low light makes things blurry. :(

Day 15: Nail Polish Advent Calendar

Well, go figure the day I have this it's raining and dark outside. :( It's China Glaze He's Going in Circles. I used three coats and no top coat. It's very pretty!

I did get a pretty awesome macro! You can see all the fragments.

Day 12: Nail Polish Advent Calendar

Today I have a quick post for you! I opened up box number 12 and inside was this little gem. It's called Skip the Gift Wrap. It's from an OPI Holiday mini set exclusive to Ulta. I picked it up during  an Ulta's Black Friday sale where I paid $7.50 for the set. Otherwise, I probably would of passed on it. Which would of been a shame since this color is so pretty. From my understanding they are now selling the full size versions.

Here is Skip the Gift Wrap in the sun. It's such a pretty jewel tone green.

The shimmer was so pretty. I loved this shade on my fingers kept steeling looks at my nails all day. Don't you love when that happens!

Day 6: Nail Polish Advent Calendar

Day 6 has arrived. I must say for putting these in randomly in the boxes I've had a lot of glitters in a row. Way too much foil and acetone these last few days. *sigh*

In my little box today was China Glaze Holly Jolly & Twinkle Lights. These were from last year's holiday collection. I used two coats of Holly Jolly. A nice green creme that dries darker than the bottle. Twinkle Lights are a multicolor glitter red, gold, and green.

I just love this glitter! It's a pretty simple glitter, but so pretty, especially over the dark green. I just love the super macro of this.

A Few Shades from OPI Germany Collection

I've been gently buying a few of these here and there when I can get them with a good deal. I've bought 6 colors from the collection so far and haven't paid much more than $3.50 a piece for them. Overall, I really liked the collection. The ones I will show you today are Don't Talk Bach To Me,  Deutsch You Want Me Baby, and Nein! Nein! OK Fine! The other three I bought were  My Very First Knockwurst, Schnapps Out of It!, and Danke-shiny Red. I'm hoping I'll pick up Every Month Is Oktoberfest and German-icure eventually! Maybe Berlin There, Done That... Then I'm done. (That's what we all say and then we buy them all).

My husband is German so I find some of the names hilarious. The first one I will show you is Don't Talk Bach To Me. Pretty much spotted in the collection as the ugly color. Yes it's ugly in the bottle but on the nail not to bad. It's a sort of yellowish-green with a silver micro-shimmer. I used two coats.

The color kind of reminds me of the fruit die Quitte which I think is Quince in English. It has the same sort of color to it. We use the jam to make our Christmas Bratapfeln (baked apples).

The next color I'll show you is called Deutsch You Want Me Baby. It's a rusty fall orange that is packed full of metallic shimmer. It looked like it was glowing when I had it on. This was definitely a surprise favorite for me! I used two coats.

 

The last one is Nein! Nein! OK Fine! Which is a dark slate gray, which leans a little green. I used two coats. My photos on this were less than spectacular but I still wanted to share.

Mint Sprinkes

It is kind of obvious that I blog when I have the urge to. I don't keep a schedule and sometimes I want to post, but put it off. Then are the times I get sidetracked. I'm on summer break from University. So here I am once again trying to get myself back into blogging.

So back at the beginning of the month I got a hold of Orly Jealous, Much? It's from the Spring 2012 Cool Romance collection. A very pretty mint green. A little bit sheer and I needed four coats I believe. I think I could of made it at three coats, but I was having problems with coverage on one nail.

So this manicure kind of got built up. The next day I added on two coats of Milani Gems. So now it looks like I have little sprinkles on my nails.

Then the next day I got even more ambitious. I add a coat of Jealous, Much on top of this. It turned out awesome! Kind has a Mint Ice Cream with Sprinkles look. hehe!

So beautiful! Best idea I had lately.

Debroah Milano - Rainbow Blazer

Today I have something totally neat to show you! I went to Manor (Swiss Department Store) a week ago just to browse around the store. Of course I checked out the cosmetics section, but there wasn't anything new that I could notice. But before I left I made sure to check out the counter of the checkout because sometimes they out the stuff there. And I found this...

Didn't know anything about the brand, but I picked up one polish called Rainbow Blazer. I googled the brand and found the website. They have other nail polish products b,ut the ones on display here are a new 40 color limited edition. They retail for $5.90 CHF which is just over $6 USD.

 

Isn't that an amazing duochrome! Purple, a bruise color, blue, and green! Every which way I moved my nails, they changed!

I was really impressed with the application. This was a bit sheer as I expected, but it applied really nicely. I used three coats. I also liked the brushed. Sometime when you have small bottles the brush isn't that great, but this one was nice and stiff but still flexible.

I just love the icy blue look it gives off above. Below are some of the pictures that show off the green side.

What do you think? I'm going back to the store tomorrow and then I'll check a few more colors out. I really liked this one and I wouldn't mind another one.

Essence - I Like and Forget-Me-Not

I have two new polishes to show you from the limited edition collection from essence called Blossoms ect... There are 5 different pastel spring colors all of them look gorgeous.

I Like is a light turquoise green-blue polish. It's a very pretty polish with a bit of turquoise shimmer too. It's not very noticeable in the pictures, but it's there. This polish applied in two coats very smoothly. I had no problems with it being patchy which is common in lighter color polishes.

Here's a shot in the shade. It looks a lot more blue in the shade.

Forget-Me-Not is a cornflower blue shade with ice blue shimmer. Applied wonderful again like the first polish in two coats. The first two pictures are full sun.

Overall, I'm a big fan of this collection so far. I have the yellow from this collection too, that I'll wear soon. I'm also going to look for the other two polishes sometime this week. Bravo Essence for putting out a nice spring pastel collection.
