Something Different Sunday's - The Cat Empire

How has your Sunday been? Mine was pretty lazy since I developed a sore throat and thus slept till 2:30 this afternoon. I'm feeling a bit better which is the good news.

On Friday, I went to The Cat Empire concert here in Zurich. They are my favorite band and I've been listening to them since the summer of 2006. This is the second concert I've been to last time I saw them was July 2007 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band is from Melbourne, Australia and the genre is alternative. It's a 6 piece band Felix (vocals/percussion), Harry (vocals/trumpet), Ollie (keyboard/backing vocals), Ryan (bass/backing vocals), Will (drums), Jumps (decks/percussion). There are also guest musicians who make up the empire horns.

The concert was amazing!! I made sure that I got there early so that I could be up close and we ended up being right in the first row! Being up front was awesome! They played a mixture of old and new songs. Days Like These, The Chariot, and The Wine Song were some of my favorites.

Me enjoying the concert!

Saying goodbye, but not for long. They did three encores! We were all a good audience.
I took a video with my camera when they played Call Me Home as they are asking fans to take clips for a video project they are doing. We were right next to a speaker so the audio wasn't that great. But camera shoots HD so check it out in high quality.

Thanks for joining me again on Something Different Sunday :)

Here are two music videos and if you want to hear more music you can check out their website The Cat Empire

  1. Thanks for the advice. My sore throat is gone but I'm not congested. I used Ricola cough drops and that helped. But I'll look into the Nim Jiom for the future.
